CNY09 - Worlds Happiest Party
The concept of a Chinese New Year Parade originated in America (surprise), but has since then made it's way back to europe and Asia, not to forget China too. The parade in Hong Kong is a very colorful event that is attended by thousands of people on the footpaths of Tsim Sha Tsui.
2009 was no different, the parade was as colorful as ever, and the wait in the first row of the crowd was worth the event. It wasn't that much worth the pictures though. As the evening fell and the parade started, I found myself standing in the worst possible location - pretty low light (photographers nightmare), and a spot where the parade would never pause for performances. Fortunately, my f/1.4 lens helped me salvage this gallery out of an otherwise tough situation
